Fundraising Events

These are specially initiated and planned by our Fundraising Committee to increase the pool of money we use to "make a difference".

Funds raised are spent to ensure that ...

  • planned and committed projects are achieved
  • we can meet immediate needs including individual and group requests that  come in regularly
  • we can contribute to emergency  relief in our community and beyond
  • we are able to initiate new / pro-active projects that are often inspired or initiated by members

A percentage of  funds is also kept in fixed deposit to ensure we have ready access to large amounts of money for major planned projects eg. the purchase of essential SES equipment which will be undertaken during the coming months.

Major fundraisers for our club have been marquee provision for community group events, cocktail parties, our Annual Community Fundraising Breakfast, the monthly Farmers' Market, Raffles, Trivia Nights, BBQs and auctions.

At our recent Community Fundraising Breakfast all money rasied was donated to the Allanah and Madeline Foundation and this will be channeled back into our community via professional development for our teachers. (for further details see letter below)

Dear Victor,
The Alannah and Madeline Foundation would like to extend their appreciation to
the Daylesford Rotary Club and to all the attendees at The Community Breakfast
with Walter Mikac.
It was great to hear that the event went so well and the media coverage was
exceptional, We also have had great feedback from attendees'
We are pleased to announce that the monies raised at this event will support the
work the Foundation has been doing with Better Buddies throughout the schools
in Hepburn Shire.
We are running a Professional Development Day in Hepburn Shire for all the
primary schools in the area, This will include building on our Better Buddies
Activities around our values of friendliness, including others, valuing difference,
respect and caring for others. In particular we will work with the schools to show
how other programs and resources they are using can be turned into powerful
buddy activities, we will review our new unit Buddies for Wildlife for dissemination
nationally (this was developed for the Hepburn Shire in 2009) and ask teachers to
help share ideas to build buddy activities for the cyber world'
These professional development sessions include face to face visit, building our
networks and most importantly working with the Better Buddies Coordinators in
all the schocls. We also hope to evaluate the progress of Better Buddles near the
end of 2010 and would be happy to provide you with these-details thdn. '
We will.ugtate you throughout the year with our work in the cdmmunity'
Thank you again for supporting the work we.are doing in your communityproudpartner
and helping us strengthen these important relationships
with the students, parents and staff within all your schools' IEI Ygyrs sincegely,

Our club appreciates and values the donations and contributions made by community members and visitors to our Shire, because without their generosity and financial assistance we would not be able to do what we do.
