History of Our Club

This 2008 photo shows Past Preidents Garry Rodoni and Ron Brown with Past Treasurer John Egan celebrating 55 years of Rotary in Daylesford -  Our Club was founded in 1953 and still continues to contribute as a Service group to the Daylesford/Hepburn and surrounding Districts, nationally and internationally. From the beginning Foundation Members embraced the principles of Rotary and used them to guide their work. Early projects included ......      After much debate and a member vote women were welcomed into the Club in      and it wasn't long before the first female President Denise Rhodes was inducted in 1995 and she was followed by Patricia Muir, in the very next year. Although the number of members has increased and decreased over the years our club has been fortunate enough to retain a core group of long term members who mentor and encourage newer members.  

Remembering long serving Past President Ray McCahon whose dry sense of humor is sadly missed and remembered by us all when fines are collected during the Sergeants Session.

 The Calder Cluster of District 9800  Like all Rotary Clubs, our club is autonomous but works co-operatively with other District 9800 Clubs including the other Calder Cluster Clubs - Woodend, Castlemaine, Gisborne and Kyneton. The Presidents of these clubs meet regularly under the leadership of our Assistant Governor Lewis Bordon to discuss district and club business, share ideas and to plan joint projects and meetings, to promote fellowship and further develop the identy of the Clader Cluster.
